Where to buy your t-shirts

If you're a fan of printed tees, you must be already familiar with Threadless. Personally, I've been kind of disappointed lately with their designs (too crowded), but luckily there are plenty of other options available (with some of the shops you'll have to arrange delivery with your friends in the States, because they don't ship all over the world). Let's see what we got:

The t-shirt blogs
selekkt does a very critical selection of everything that is posted, so pleasant surprises only.
addicteed has plenty of nice things:
shirt 2 simply rocks:
the teeshirtblog is in French, but you'll only need to look at the pictures:
The shops:
limitees has some very good looking merchandise on the shelves, and it's made only by small producers, so dig deep:
for beard enthusiasts, there's a dedicated shop: moustache & friends:

if you're more into cookies, grab some colouful cupcakes from Johnny:
If you're a big color lover, chances are you're going to get your eyes popping at people like us:
For controversial characters look no further than kid robot's site:If you bought something you liked from another place, please post a comment and share the link :)

P.S. for my English readers: we're hiring people who can read Romanian :)

Nokia's human Snake

One of the most entertaining websites I ever saw just got published on the web. I'm talking about Nokia's n-gage Get out and play campaign which is centered around a stop-motion film version of the most popular cell-phone game, Snake. A very likable young man walks across town gathering an impressive queue of 1000 people while trying to stay out of trouble. See & download the full lenght version here.

Make sure you don't miss the human bouncing ball game :)

How should a good motion designer reel look like

it should look like Conrad Ostwald's funny and entertaining piece of video (hi-res) which casts all the techniques an animator needs to master in a very personal way. Ostwald makes fun of the standardized way all reels are created these days in something that's clearly unrepeatable:

The Art-Eggcident

Several huge poached eggs made their apparition in the central square of Leeuwarden, in the Netherlands. The author is artist Henk Hofstra who is not at his first try to make his artwork very visible. His other project involved painting 1000 meters of road with blue paint. Hofstra was hoping his Blue Road would eventually show on Google Earth.

Paper monsters, tshirts and some planes

Jean Jullien is a very talented designer that mainly works with paper that he cuts and pastes in amazing ways to create objects, characters, posters, books or movies.

Some music is magic, but most of it is not

this is the conclusion of the new Magic FM campaign made by my colleagues at BBDO, Mihai Gongu & Cristina Panaitescu. Enjoy:

Designing movement

Artist and designer Ben Hopson realized that designers tend to be exclusively interested in form when they create a new product and that innovations in the way products move (for example, the opening of a case) are sadly not their priorities. Aesthetic principles seem to apply only to static objects and kinetics are always left in engineers' hands.

Hopson believes that a more beautiful or surprising movement can add value to new products and improve functions of existing objects.

So he started to explore and experiment on the aesthetics of movement using playing cards and foam models. See his recordings here and read his conclusions.
